During the weekend, I was in Austria in lovely Vienna to see the beauties of the town and have one meeting. I have decided that every country that I will visit from now on, I will find out the complete mobile data, and I think sharing some of them with you might be nice.

As I posted the article last week about Mobile Web in Czech Republic, this week I would like to write about Austria. The mobile operators were so nice to provide the data publically, so I could use it for this article.

Austria population: 8 199 783
Number of mobile subscribers: 9 400 000 (113% population)

Operators (my favorite Wiki list of operators):

  • Mobilkom (3,85 mil.)
  • T-Mobile (3,27 mil.)
  • One (1,8 mil.)
  • Three (0,47 mil.)

Mobile visitors:

  • 100 000 per day | 200 - 300 000 users per month Mobilkom
  • T-Mobile didn’t deliver data
  • 30 - 40 000 users per day | 150 - 170 000 users per month One

So let’s say T-Mobile has slightly lower numbers than Mobilkom, which leads us to the market data of around 700 000 unique users per month, which means around 8% of the population use mobile internet in Austria.
