There was a nice post somewhere today regarding 3G, and that cities in the US are not all 3G ready - for purposes of use of the 3G iPhone (I dont know why it comes up with iPhone, Nokia has 3G in phones for 2 years, but anyway). There was a very nice map published on that topic, and I thought it would be nice to share it here.

Note the blue is 3G, dark orange is EDGE, and light orange is GPRS. This means many places still not data covered yet, although most of the population is probably covered in key cities and territories. If you are interested, see the AT&T coverage map.

Comparing the 3G coverage between US and Europe, in Europe many operators still haven’t launched 3G at all, but some countries are doing much better even in the countryside. For example check the UK (3 UK) coverage, which is really good, but compared to only a couple telcos in CEE having launched 3G (maybe 1/3), that is quite poor.
