Some weeks ago I have been trying to search the web for any reference to Google Maps Mobile API - with zero results to be able to find anything. Fortunatelly for everyone, its already available. Google Maps has a released what they called a Static API, where it generates static images perfectly usable for mobile phones. The documentation can be found here.
