How much should mobile web data subscriptions cost? That is the question we asked our Opinion Leaders this week, and the responses are very interesting. I think it is the first time, when all Opinion Leaders agree.

All of them agree on the following points

  • Hidden costs are a huge barrier
  • Fee for about a “beer a week” 
  • Some of our opinion leaders think flat rate mobile data should be for free or at a marginal cost
  • Opinion Leaders also mentioned mobile data roaming should be significantly cheaper

From my point of view, I think we should unify the costs - set a bareable level for the user, and communicate this change. Also this should come to the user by default (capped, activated), so he doesn’t have to have any knowledge before consuming the service, and mobile phones should be also preset locally.
I dont understand why operators use different settings for example… It’s horrible.
