Android promise on non-fragmentation was broken
Mobile phones January 24th, 2010Android, when being released promised a new platform. A platform where Java has failed in fragmentation and too much “porting”.
But unfortunatelly it seems Android is heading in a similar direction. With the release of the new Android phones such as the Droid and also new Android versions, more and more Android Market applications are not working by the day on these new handsets. I can personally confirm since using the Milestone (european Droid), many applications are not working, which is a pitty.
The biggest thing I am scared about is, as Android is advancing forward, more and more phones, more and more versions mean a great ammount of problems.
Well, we will see with the new line of phones, but this might be a problem on the cost side of developing Android applications.
